Dylan Thomas
(1914-1953)

His works have been described as having intense lyricism and highly charged emotion. Thomas was the epitimy of the Romantic poet found in the American imagination: he was extravagantly theatrical, displayed beligerant behavior in public places, was heavy drinker and read his work aloud with remarkable depth of feeling. Tragically, he died at the age of 39 after a night of binge drinking in New York City.
