This collective was formed in 1995 by Niktorius and Johnny in Kaliningrad, and in 1996 they recorded their album "Narcissism" held in dark folk style. The band can undoubtedly be called the Russian gothic formation which is the most famous abroad. Their debut CD is successfully distributed in western countries. This year, the band is invited to take part in the largest Polish gothic festival "Castle Party". At present the band is finishing their second CD and the song "Elegy" presented on Russian Gothic Compilation is taken from their new album.

ROMOWE RIKOITO "Narcissism" - 1997
This disc is a debut CD of the interesting group from Kaliningrad. The given CD is close to WSD bands, namely Current 93, Sol Invictus and Death in June, in music and conception. I don't know whether it is good or bad to find obvious analogies, but I liked the CD. Everything's rather sad and gothic. Current 93 and Sol Invictus fans often call this kind of style 'dark folk' or 'apocalyptic folk' and to my mind such definition suits Romowe Rikoito enough. At present it's the best of professionally recorded and designed Russian non-commercial albums. Fragments of works of such personalities as Publius Ovidius Naso (43 bc - 18 ad), Bernart de Ventadorn (1145 - 1180), William Blake (1757 - 1827), Isidor Ducasse - Launtreamont (1846 - 1870), Arthur Rimbaud (1854 - 1891), T.S. Eliot (1888 - 1965), Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828 - 1882) are used in lyrics.
