This
is the second and so far last CD of gloomy dark-folkers from Kenigsberg, Romowe Rikoito. l'Automne Eternel
is very keen on carrying on and developing the ideas of the first CD, and is
in fact better than the latter both in quality and diversity of the material
and, which is also important, in the quality of the record itself. All fans of
this band must have this CD in his or her collection!

ROMOWE RIKOITO "l'Automne Eternel" Reviews
Listening to "l'Automne Eternel", I come to the conclusion that
there is only one season left in the universe. It's summer in the street, but
it is autumn in my room: I close my eyes and see golden leaves falling down
from sleepy trees, I feel the rain dissolving in billions of raindrops falling
from the sky of steel, suffocating in tons of dark clouds, filling my soul
with sweet grief. This wrench overwhelms me, wrench for something forsaken,
lost in the depths of my mind, in my previous lives. The air-like keyboards,
the weeping violin, the melancholic guitar, bells, the smooth voice of
Nictorius and the vocals of Julia create a wonderful atmosphere of peaceful
meditation, of "ruins of an old castle in an uncared-for autumnal park".
The title of the CD couldn't suit better the general mood of the
music. Although ROMOWE RIKOITO hadn't change their style, this CD didn't
remind me of CURRENT 93, in contrast to the first one. They still stick to the
aesthetics that is characteristic of WSD bands. More than that, I believe
that we can be proud, that there is a band on our scene that can not only be
compared to the titans of the world of gothic dark folk, but even beat some of
them.
Beside "Elegy", the track that was adored by many, the album
performs other very beautiful songs, written on the basis of such outstanding
poets as Eliot, Poe, Baudelaire, etc. All the songs are bound together by the
invisible thread of Eternal Autumn. My favourite moments are keyboard parts in
the fifth track and the mediaeval beginning of the seventh, but the best song
is "Fons Aeternae Juventutis" featuring lyrics by Charles Baudelaire. I
strongly recommend this CD to all fans of real gothic music and dark folk in
particular. Let Eternal Autumn forever dwell in thee and let thee cash the
sweet grief that invites you to the outfield of its own creation.
